Formex Exhibition - Stockholm

I have suddenly found a load of new designers that have all launched at the Formex Exhibiton this year...why had I never heard of the Formex Exhibition until now...?? (shameful confession on my behalf). I will definately be booking it in my brain and hopefully try and get a cheeky weekend to Stockholm in 2012 to time in with next years exhibiton...I had better start filling the money jar up. There is a lot of SUPER talent floating around but one person that particularly caught my eye was Linda Sjunnesson who created a fabric called Ponderosa. what do you think?

Be Inspired

I have hit a wall a little today so I have spent the afternoon having a little peek online for some inspiration. I have just stumbled across an amazing talent, a lady named Anna Buckland. She is a Swedish Pattern Designer, she designs for fabric textiles & wall paper. Her work is really something...very playful but still contemporary. I will definately be following her blog from now on for some lovely treats for the eyes....

So I have been cracking on with my project and have used photo's from my recent holiday to the canary Islands as my subject..(just to add this was the BEST holiday for me and my boyfriend yet...lovely lovely memories). The main element I have been looking at is colour and texture. I will show you all my work in the next few weeks when it all starts coming together. Above is a thought for the day.

little love note

time to spare

Here are a couple of sketches I have drawn (using pencil) that are self portraits of myself...do you like them? I hope so, my face looks a little funny to me. My hair is different now too. (ugly) Both sketches are unfinished, I am adding more text to them as I want to experiment with quotations using a mix of media based around words and caligraphy. When I am happy with my work (I am not sure how soon that will be being my own biggest critic) I will opefully start using my drawings to reprint & sell some day soon...and make some pennies.

playing with shapes

here are a few little designs I drew using acid inks..I really love these bright colours...although the brightness could not be any inappropriately further away from the weather today: grey and yuk. I am thinking of developing it in to a wall art collection using a mix of the same acid colours.

summer love

Here are a few sketches I have been working on in my (very little) free time over the summer....I have recently been looking a lot at illustrated drawings and jeez a loo there are a lot of talents out there. I will mention a few in my next few blogs over the coming weeks. So I have been practising a little myself with illustrated style drawungs, It works well as you can be a little more detailed in the lines but a little less prissy about colour.
