artee pieces

Here are a few drawings I have been working on. You may notice or will begin to notice that I only like splashes of colour if any; so these are actually quite bold for me...panic over. what do you think?

festive treats

As it is ye old festive season I have of course been doing a lot (I say a lot loosely..it is more verging on obsessive online browsing)....yup. Iv concoted a dreamy christmas list of pressies that are just adorable. ** I hope my boyfriend reads this blog **

Here are a few little postcards I have been working on. It is not really my thing to do pretty flowery ** if you ever see me do a flowery design I may have been possessed. call the police **  but hey ho another string to my bow as they say. I have used a range of media including hand stitched beading, dried flowers and old book papers.

Jalouse - two beautiful beings

Iv very nearly finished for christmas...ya boi. I do apologise though for my poorness of late, but I really have been struggling to juggle uni work, paid work, general day to day duties. Finally the festive break is here so I can now resign from being the worlds worst blogger.

I found a gorgeous article the other day about the two gorgeous creatures...Mark Ronson Josephine de la Baume *most amazind surname ever*. They did an article for the french magazine jalouse (2009), both in there wedding attire staging a faux wedding. They are just so dreamy and romantic..If he didn't marry her I would have in that dress.

If I could have a wedding I would like it to look just like this please.

Iv played around with the exposure a little.

Panel pop

I feel a little behind in the industry and I am sure panelpop is a term I should know about...after a little research I do now & it is amazing!! so I am going to share it with you. Panelpop is a technique of printing on to a stone surface, it is the evolution of framing (said in a very clever voice). But on a serious note it really is great because it eliminates paper & most of the stone used is from landfill. So it is very green!! You can also print anything on to it as you usually would...genius huh?! I am definately going to order myself a little treat nearer to christmas.

The pics above are by a lady called Beth Emily arent they just so lovely & delicate? She is featured on the panelpop site if you want to take a look.

meat free mondays

I like to think of myself as a green pioneer, saving the world one step at a time but without the hippie tye died tops & dreadlocks. My view is simply that any small step will eventually become a big step in making a difference to the planet. So Iv come across a very worthy campaign called 'Meat Free Mondays' . Set up by the newly wed Paul McCartney & the gorgeous Stella McCartney. It is pioneered to the view that eating less meat will assist in combating global warming & the production of meat itself puts in more greenhouse gases than transport (naughty naughty). There are loads of scrummy recipes on the site too! Join me!

One day a week without meat ....easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Ink & spindle

Iv just come across yet another super print design blog. It is run by two lovely ladies Lara Cameron & Tegan Rose who run a boutique textile studio called Ink & Spindle. The bad news is...they are in Melbourne Australia..boo. all the more reason to move to Oz..no?! Nonetheless, the blog is still very inspiring, very earthy & organic looking with lots of lovely print designs. Oh not to forget that all prints are screen printed by hand..what talented gals! take a look  inkandspindle.blogspot.com

Formex Exhibition - Stockholm

I have suddenly found a load of new designers that have all launched at the Formex Exhibiton this year...why had I never heard of the Formex Exhibition until now...?? (shameful confession on my behalf). I will definately be booking it in my brain and hopefully try and get a cheeky weekend to Stockholm in 2012 to time in with next years exhibiton...I had better start filling the money jar up. There is a lot of SUPER talent floating around but one person that particularly caught my eye was Linda Sjunnesson who created a fabric called Ponderosa. what do you think?
