Zara Victoria is here....

zaravictoria.co.uk

Here is a little snippet of my new website I have set up! It took a while (and lots of tears and tiredness) to get there but I did it and I am very happy with the outcome. What do you think? Take a look around and if anybody has any feedback, I would love to hear it.

My graduate show and new designers exhibition is creeping up so fast so, a lot of students seem to put marketing & networking to the bottom of the do list which I don't really follow. If I were to give advice to any new students or graduates I would say there is really no point in creating beautiful work if nobody is going to see it, so get your work out there.

Keep looking on the website too as I will be updating it regularly with new work, links to my art thread, pinterest and new designers exhibition news!

Kenzo / Liberties / Stella McCartney / Helmut Lang

I found some great inspiration om my trip to London, not only the print designs that high end designers were using, but the fabrics that were used and the visual display for the collection. Here is a summary below of what inspired me from each designer.

A very bold collection for SS13 with striking prints and pops of neon colour. This picture was taken in Liberties where the display was very simple, bold, young and fresh; allowing the printed garments speak for themselves without any distraction. *note the neon hanging rail..love*

The scarve floor of Liberties has to be my favourite of all floors, it really is a treat for the eyes. Each designers collection is displayed individually and uniquely. Stocking so many designers from Mary Katrantzou, Alexander McQueen, Jonathan Saunders, Peter Pilotto, Emma J Shipley (my personal favourite) and so many more. The picture above is Liberty's own brand of scarves.

Clean lines, fresh pastel colours with vibrant pops of colour within. This picture was taken in Harvey Nichols. The displayed collection is very much mimicking the collection itself; simple, understated and beautiful. Oh Stella you did it again. I will be taking inspiration for my own collection for New Designers.

Helmut Lang
The SS13 collection in Liberties was equally classy, styled and beautiful. Gorgeous detailing in the printed designs combined with tailored shirts, cardigans, blazers and light knitwear. As a whole the collection was understated and classy.

Hope you enjoy having a browse at these designers as much as I did! au reviour for now! Zara x

London love and design inspiration

Looking at these pictures makes me fall in love with London all over again. It has that effect on me every time I visit. I spent a couple of days there recently with my lovely boyfriend and we just had the best time. We made an itinerary (the Mr is very organised) and crammed so much in the two days, it was perfect.

We had a lovely lunch at the Albion Caff which was so delish and the location is too cool for school / we stayed in a lovely hotel with very crisp interior decor, with a queen size bed (i'm very spoilt) / of course, we did a touristy afternoon at the British Museum, note the gorgeous ceiling and glass dome / We went for afternoon tea at the Berkeley Hotel....which was the most serene two hours I have had in forever.

Pavilion Road in Chelsea is a Road that I aspire to live on, the average house price is 4.5million so I have my work cut out for the next few years / obligatory selfie in my favourite yellow scarf / United Colours of Benetton a shop that always inspires me to wear more colour. Ok I want to go back to London now.
