and relax
I had my half term week last week which was lovely and I managed to take some lovely pictures to match my near perfect week. It was great to just be at home, spend time with my beautiful mister and catch up with people I neglect due to my busy work load. I had a few lazy mornings, a huge walk in the country side, a day visit to a village for cider and cake, visited the zoo and I celebrated two birthdays..perfect.
going grey
Good day y'all! well my wall paper designs have moved on quite a bit since I last blogged about my designs but it is certainly a good movement so no need to frown just yet. My colour palette has now gone a little more sober and moved in to nude, pale grey and a very pale mint, the lines are now less graphic and I have reverted back to the aesthetic that I loved most in my original drawings but somehow lost...broken lines, distress and ageing ** much like myself in my final hour of any project ** hope you like the new colours.

RSA Student Design Award 2012
I mentioned I had entered the RSA Student Design award a while before Christmas now. The brief I entered was to design a collection of Royal Mail postage stamp which promoted the concept of 'environmental changes'...I am very much a full time preaching green pioneer *think Stella McCartney in a half dosage*...so this was just perfect. My subject matter was food waste, I personally hate wasting food and never leave food on my plate...which admittedly sometimes isn't a good thing...but never the less promoting the reduction of food waste to consumers was what I aimed to achieve. The deadline is now closed so I can show you my submission....take a look.

LFW
Well I have been having extreme life envy over the past few days after reading all of the tweets from the insiders lucky enough to attend London Fashion Week...I can only hope it isn't as glamorous as it sounds. But I would be lying if that were true. Here are a few that I think were the best dressed celebs

Alyson Fox
Alyson Fox is a sculptor, illustrator, photographer, jeweller and textile designer...it appears there is pretty much nothing she can not do. There is a very soft graphical style to her drawing/designs and very unique and refreshing...much unlike the usual suspecting styles that are everywhere these days. Take a look at her blog. Definitely someone worth shouting about.
Interiors UK show 2012
Catherine Frere Smith
Her collection was inspired by nature..in a cute way, not the green flowing leaves we see a tad too much for my liking. It included naturally dyed yarns, embroidery on to print, mini model houses **cuter than they sound** and knitted birds...little bizarre but we will let that one go. Above all her display was simply beautiful with every little detail perfectly orchestrated. I am certainly a new fan.
Rachel was the surface design winner with a collection of hand printed wall papers...BIG congrats! Really great colours. A very talented designer with perfectly printed paper. I am sure we will be seeing her a lot more in the future

wallpaper
here are a few wall paper designs so far. These are to be digitally printed as opposed to screen printing. Im pushing myself with the colours as I am a lover of muted tones only...** show me a bold colour and I will have a panic attack before you can say beige **, admittedly I am slightly out of my comfort zone with this mustard but no baited breath in sight as yet.
