day dreaming

Im currently stalling drawing, not wanting to do the ironing and awaiting for my mister to come home..while day dreaming...this is what springs to my mind. I have always wanted a Vespa **literally since the day I was born no less** I would like to ride around London on one just like this

Indian Memoirs

As promised here is the work I submitted for my final piece to end my first year. Moving on from my previous blog 'what I am doing NOW', My self directed brief was to design a collection of hand woven rugs which would sit beautifully in the store Anthropologie. I have used the colours of India & traditional techniques to produce my final four samples..I so hope you like...oh and if anyone from Antropolgie is reading..please call me.

I have used my own personal pictures in my mood boards below, it brought back many fun memories of me and  my boyf's trip. Iv used personal pics to create a clear visual of the real India...oh how I love thee.

Here are my hand woven rug samples (they could have been better if my weave tutor was a little more punctual & attended more but hey ho):

my super duper talented friend

Amanda Luke..remember you heard the name here first. I am very lucky to have met Amanda during my course, brought together through love of textiles & hate of late trains. She is a great inspiration for myself & I am sure many newcomers to the textile design industry. She has just completed her BA in Textile Design finishing it off nicely with a show stopping collection at New Designers 2011. Her collection was a homeware collection based around teapots & cutlery...it is super cute, I may be biased but I can definately see her name on the high street...watch this space.

Cath Kidston and Orla Keily move over... Amanda Luke is here to stay.

Take a look at her website for more designs.

Arian Behzadi

I have stumbled across this artist and I am mahoosively inspired..he is absolutely super. It looks like he uses mixed media, collage, paint & photography....simply beauty to the eyes.

time out is over and out.

I have been a little pre occupied lately with trying to sort out final projects but I am pleased to say it was all worth it...I finished my first year with a 2.1..high five to me! Iv also been on a huge mission to find work for the summer..the reality is after weeks of a handful of let downs I still have no work. So it is time to tighten my laces, brush the dirt of my shoes & get stuck in to some drawing. So I am going to try my very very best to be a dedicated blogger over the summer period.

I am finding that life is a little un-calm of late which is baffling, so I have turned my eyes to Buddhism, Iv got a super new book which I am hoping will lead me to eternal calm, stress free existence and maybe even some peace of mind to start to like the work I do..if not love it.
